About the Team
The Centroid team forms the backbone of Walmart’s long-term supply chain strategy. Their mandate is to harness advanced analytics and data science to design systems that deliver world-class customer service at scale while keeping costs low.
One of the team’s flagship initiatives is building a Digital Twin Simulation platform, a cutting-edge tool that models Walmart’s vast supply chain. This simulation enables leaders to test strategies, assess potential risks, and validate decisions before implementation. By leveraging predictive analytics, the Centroid team helps Walmart anticipate bottlenecks, optimize assets, and enhance resilience. Their work ensures Walmart remains at the forefront of retail supply chain innovation while maintaining operational efficiency and flexibility.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage advanced data analytics models to optimize supply chain strategies, balancing customer satisfaction with cost efficiency.
- Leverage data insights to identify improvement opportunities and drive impactful initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Build relationships across Walmart’s business units, gathering input, sharing best practices, and securing support for analytics-driven recommendations.
- Align stakeholders and management around new strategies through clear communication, compelling presentations, and data-backed narratives.
- Use diverse data resources effectively to ensure successful execution of initiatives.
- Collaborate with supply chain business teams to identify cost-saving and service-improving opportunities using advanced analytics.
- Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform policies across supply chain operations.
- Work with Data Scientists and Engineers to scale and productionize advanced models.
- Coach and mentor peers, sharing expertise in analytics to strengthen overall team capability.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong analytical acumen and proven expertise in advanced data analytics and modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL and cloud-based platforms such as BigQuery.
- Advanced programming skills in Python (or R).
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with large datasets and distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MapReduce).
- Familiarity with cloud environments like Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, iterative environments while managing cross-functional priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and experience mentoring or leading teams.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree in these fields with 2 years of experience; OR
- 6 years of professional experience in analytics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in analytics tools, cloud platforms, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional environments and mentoring others.
